"You are not your brain" book
Has anyone read this book? I just watched a youtube video (https://youtu.be/qcrGlUHlu4M) from the author and it was very enlightening.
I'd be curious to hear more about your thoughts on the book if you've read it!
I haven't red it, but isn't it something like atomic habbits? Shouldn't the priciples be the same?
I'm not familiar with atomic habits. It does seem to relate to CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy).
Basic principle whichs speaks true to me is that our mind is in control of our consciousness, but our brain throws ideas/thoughts into our mind. We can reprogram the brain based on how we consciously handle the thoughts.

I don't know if you're religious or not, but I'd like to tell you a true story from my professor of church music in the theology university in my country. He told us that our subconsciousness is the main thing because its waaaaay bigger than our consciousness, he illustrated this by pointing at a mountain peak where there is a bit of snow(consciousness) and everything under it that is not in snow(subconsciousness).
So he told us that everything that is nearby to us affects our subconsciousness and after that our consciousness without we even taking a part in it. He gave us the example of a song that we hear and told us that our subconsciousness has already repeated it backwords and disected it in every single way.
So the conclusion was that bad songs affect us far beyond the lyrics. He told us of psycology friends of his that did an experiment where they lay down volunteers on their office floor, blindfold them and put headphones with tribal throat singing from africa(pretty much summoning demons music). The group was of 15 members but they stopped the experiment on the 6 or 7 volunteer because all previous just started to have seizures on the spot after like 5 minutes of that music. He challenged us, the students, "I will put on tribal throat singing from one of the rituals, if anyone can stand it for more than 4 minutes will get a streight A+ for the course". We all wanted to puke in less than 2 minutes. There was no lyrics, just throuat melody, nothing harsh or anything. For some reason we all wanted it to stop imidiately.
