Every August we're forced to perform an app update by Google that makes the app optimized for the latest versions of Android. For most users, this is a fairly simple app update just like any other and the app continues to function without any issues.

However, for a very small number of users (less than 1%), we've learned these sorts of updates can cause stability issues. It appears to be caused by us having to update the targetApi level for the android app (basically, we have to build the app for the latest version of Android) and this can cause it to misbehave on some devices. The solution is fairly simple, uninstall and reinstall the app. While we hope this doesn't happen, it has historically for less than 1% of our users.

We'll be rolling out the Android app update for Android 16 in the next week or so to beta users. The public release will follow shortly behind.
