So I had an Iphone and changed to android specificly to make it possible to track what I do on the device because I did very bag things on it. So when I bought the android device all is good until I realized I could go to the iphone in the box, connect to the internet and do what everyone would do. I just sold it a couple of days ago and there are no more devices around me that cannot track what I do.
Maybe you'd think "that dude can't control himself and an app won't fix things". My thinking is that things are so out of control that I just need to get back on my feet first and then work on control. I have been adicted to p0rn for like 15 years or something and in the last years I felt just a slight shame, nothing more which is super bad. I want to get better, I want to get better for my wife, my kids and God and I'll do everything necessary to do so.
I just sold my old phone, the last thing that could get me the dopamine rush
I want to comment on this part: "Maybe you'd think "that dude can't control himself and an app won't fix things". ". I couldn't disagree more. Even if you have the strongest willpower in the world, it's always a losing tactic to rely on it. You should always avoid using it as much as possible. Because even if you are the most disciplined, willpower is a finite resource and gets depleted. And even if you were successful in resisting pornography using willpower only, it will consume you so much that it WILL inevitably reduce your productivity.
Praying for you. Truple is very helpful for me but in addition the mens Pure Desire group i just joined a couple months ago has been life changing. Being surrounded with others that struggle and some of which have overcome porn addiction has been really good for me and has changed my heart. I would highly recommend joining one. If there is not one showing online then contact Pure Desire Ministries. They can help you find one that may not be advertised online. https://puredesire.org/join-a-group/. Seven Pillars is the name of the group and name of material to use
Thank you for that! I don't have one at my church, but probably have one in my city. I would imagine its very helpful as I've red tons in the nofap subreddits and seeing others who want to change for the better is something that is helpful. Thank you for your prayers, they are very needed! :)
You're on the path. Just keep trudging along and keep hope.
The truth is these apps don't fix the problem. But they still help. A seat belt doesnt guarantee you wont die in an accident, but you're stupid not to use one. You have to fix the "problem" yourself. You've got to figure out the root issues at play. For some there's depression/anxiety mixed in with the lust. For others its just a habit turned addiction after decades of use. For others a bit of all of it, and maybe something else too. But you need to keep digging and learning as you go, and thats how you progress.

Thank you for the kid words! I've always wondered what the root cause is because yes, I did have very traumatic childhood, but yes, God healed me and I'm on very good soil now. I think its just tha habbit turned into addiction, I've had many times where everythings fine and afterwards BAAM and I do it for no reason at all, not even because I was tempted. And your example of wearing a seatbelt is very good, haven't thought of it like this!
