Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share a few tips that have helped me with Truple. First, being open with your accountability partner can make a big difference. Trust and transparency are key.
Setting realistic goals has also been crucial. Start small and build up. Journaling my progress has helped me stay on track and understand my triggers.
Remember, it’s okay to slip up. Learn from it and keep moving forward. How do you stay motivated and accountable? Any tips?
Thanks!
Those of us who have activated accountability and have still slipped up can attest to the fact that the intellect cannot always stop us from falling, right? If it was up to my intellect, I would always opt for my accountability partner to never see anything of interest when they open up those emails.
But in the moment of the temptation the intellect becomes clouded and our only line of defense is the will.
I think the path out of this darkness comes down to small efforts to strengthen the will, day in and day out, recognizing that great power, physical or spiritual, grows in the shadows - under the guise of simple acts.

I think realistic goals is key. Everyone just starting on this journey thinks "I'll kick it cold turkey". But the truth is that's highly unlikely. For most people, it takes learning and changing habits.
First you'll go 3 days without a relapse. Then after some time it'll stretch to 5 days, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, etc. Eventually you'll go months without. Then multiple months. Then finally you'll hit years, but you still need to keep the new habits up. Any slip up with the new habits opens the doors for old habits to come up. Unfortunately, this is a marathon race that doesn't end until your time on earth ends. So it can feel relentless. But it gets easier with every lesson learned.
The key thing is recognizing that a relapse is simply an opportunity to learn from mistakes and improve.
