I'm reaching out regarding a significant gap in screenshot monitoring on my device (Surface Laptop) on March 27, 2025. Between 10:38 AM and 5:26 PM, there were no screenshots captured, even though I was actively using my computer throughout the day, attending video meetings via Microsoft Teams and working across multiple applications.

Here’s what I’ve been able to confirm:

Truple screenshots stop at 10:38 AM and resume at 5:26 PM, but the first several images are completely black.

During this time, I was not logged out, did not shut down, did not disable Truple, and was actively using the device.

I use an external monitor for work and, to avoid triggering the default sleep behavior on lid close, I kept the laptop lid partially open throughout the day. The lid was not closed.

Event Viewer logs show that the system entered Modern Standby at 3:36 PM due to idle timeout, despite my active use of the machine during that time.

Application logs show repeated PowerEvents but no errors, crashes, or service interruptions.

It appears that Modern Standby or a related power state may have paused or disrupted Truple’s screen capture capabilities. The black screenshots beginning at 5:26 PM suggest the service may have resumed without full screen capture access until the next system reset.

Does Truple pause screen capture during Modern Standby or other idle power states, even if the lid is not fully closed?

Are there known limitations with screen capture resuming incorrectly, resulting in black screenshots?

Is there a recommended configuration to ensure Truple runs reliably on Surface devices when using an external monitor?

I’m committed to maintaining full monitoring and would appreciate any guidance anyone has on this.

Thanks!
