I was first exposed to porn around 13 years of age due to unrestricted internet access. I am now 26 and have been plagued with porn use to varying degrees through the years. I did not begin to take serious steps to address it until the end of 2021, when I started using my first filter and approached my first accountability partners.
While there have been gradual improvements, I am ashamed that I am still in large part a user of porn. But, I can only keep on going from where I am currently. I am sick of acting like a victim. I want to take responsibility.
May God forgive me of this recurring sin and free me fully from it, in Jesus' name.
And so I march forward with hope.
Remember that God is not just your God, but your father. I am a father and if my child is falling and is hurt(no matter if that hurts me also) I will do everything in my power to help so God is on your side. When he was on earth he went through everything and knows our struggles. You are in this with God and with Him everything is possible.

My story is similar to yours (I'll post a story soon). These days I am amazed to see how much protection we are under who place our trust in Jesus. So much goes on in the spiritual realm that we have no idea is going on. What I am finding is that the only tools I have to fight back are confession and prayer. God changes hearts to correct desires from their corrupted state. And He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The adversary loves to use shame to keep us from running to the one who loves us, regardless of what we have done. Jesus' death on the cross not only saved you from death through sin, but he also took away your shame. To the same extent that your sin is destroyed and you need not fear it, He invites you to place that shame on Him. Fix your eyes on Him, who, for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God (Heb 12).

Make sure you're learning and changing how you approach it. If something doesn't work, find a way to fix it. Each relapse is a chance to learn how you went wrong. It's an invitation to improve. Keep track of your progress, and you'll be able to see growth even as relapses occur.
